Name: Emily Brant Date: November 19th, 1927 - April 29th, 2009 Obituary: ADRIAN – Emily B. Brant, age 81 of Adrian passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at Lynwood Manor. Emily was born November 19, 1927 in Clinton Township, the oldest daughter of Lee Roy and Ruth (Kendrick) Smith. She graduated from Adrian High School with the class of 1945. Emily worked for Bixby Hospital for 22 years, retiring in 1991. In her retirement she worked for the public schools as a teachers aide and a foster grandparent. Emily was a licensed pilot who was active in the Civil Air Patrol in the 1940’s. She enjoyed volunteering at the Lenawee County Library. Emily was a faithful member of the First Church of the Nazarene. Emily is survived by two daughters, Lois (Brian) Whetro of W. Unity, OH; and Linda (Randy) Brant of Fayette, OH; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; a brother, Phillip Smith of Adrian; and a sister, Nancy Young of NC. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Grzegorzewski; a son, Daniel Brant; and a sister, Olive Murray. The funeral service for Emily will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at Wagley Funeral Home with Pastor David Fulks officiating. Burial will follow at Graham Cemetery.
