Name: Ruth Heinrich Date: December 4th, 1907 - May 14th, 2009 Obituary: ADRIAN—Ruth Marie Heinrich, age 101, was born December 4, 1907, near Blissfield, MI to Kathryn May (Kneisel) and William Lewis Heinrich, and died May 14, 2009. She lived near Ogden Center until she moved to Adrian, December 26, 1961. She attended Ogden Center School, first through ninth grade, and graduated from Blissfield High School, in 1926 and Lenawee County Normal in 1927. She taught grades 4, 5, 6 in Jasper from 1927-1930. She graduated from Eastern Michigan University in 1940 and taught in Brighton, MI school, sixth grade, from 1931-1933; a rural school near Lyons, OH; and Basor School, near Blissfield, from 1934 to 1936; and in Blissfield, second grade, from 1936 to 1945, and in Adrian from 1945 to 1969. She moved to Adrian December 26, 1961. She taught 24 years at Lincoln School in Adrian teaching second grade. All 40 years of teaching were in Lenawee County, except two years in which she taught in Brighton, MI. Ruth was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Adrian, the Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel, National Retired Teachers Association and the Lenawee Retired School Personnel. She is survived by her nieces Judy (Arthur) Frock and family, Susan (Philip) Rathburn and family, a nephew, Robert (Jodi) Heinrich and family, several cousins, great-nieces and great nephews. She is preceded in death by her brother William Edward Heinrich and his wife Ruth. Funeral services for Ruth will be Thursday, May 21, 2009 at Wagley Funeral Home at 2:00 pm with Rev.
