Name: Aileen Brown Hubbard Date: April 18th, 1926 - July 16th, 2009 Obituary: Aileen Brown Hubbard, 83, of Three Rivers, MI, died Thursday, July 16, 2009. Aileen was born April 18, 1926, in Floyd County, Kentucky, near Brainard and Prestonsburg, where her father worked in the David coal mines and her grandfather farmed the Middle Creek bottomland and kept a general store. Aileen attended Prestonsburg High School. In 1943 Aileen married Joseph H. Hubbard of Spurlock Creek, Kentucky, and after WW ll moved into Ohio and eventualy settled in Adrian, Michigan, where they raised five children. Aileen's proudest accomplishment was her family, and could always be counted on to be in attendance at every game, theatre production, concert, or activity. She was prouder still that all of her children are college graduates. When the children were grown she worked for American Chain and Cable for 20 years. After retirement Aileen returned to her family land in Kentucky for six years where she cared for her mother. She then moved to Charlottesville, VA, where she resided until 2008, when she moved to Three Rivers, MI. Mrs. Hubbard was preceded in death by her parents, George and Essie (Prater) Brown; her brother, Rodney; her husband, Joseph; and her son, Malcolm (Mike). She is survived by her sisters, Euka Schaefer of Grosse Point Woods, Mazie (Guenther) Dey of Rochester Hills, and a brother Darryl (Beaulahvene) Brown, of Lexington, KY; her son, Joseph (Rhonda) Hubbard ll of Adrian; daughters Leilani (Bruce) Ruesink of Three Rivers, Yvonne Hubbard of Charlottesville, VA, and Veronica Hubbard of Arlington, VA. Grandchildren surviving Mrs. Hubbard are Jeffra (Dylan Kuckes) Ruesink, Joe (Katie) Rexrode, Damian (Christie) Ruesink, Jason (Jeanine Southwick) Wilson, Amanda (Tim Gillis) Wilson, Chris (Andrea) Hubbard, Mike Hubbard, Daniel (Laura) Hubbard, and Brandon, Ashley, and Corey Hubbard. Great grandchildren are Tuolumne and Guthrie Ruesink Kuckes; Jack and Brennan Rexrode; Lloyd, Lillian, and Eleanor Ruesink; and Logan Hubbard. Cremation has taken place per the wishes of the deceased. Aileen's friends and family are invited gather at Wagley Funeral Home, Adrian, MI at 12 noon on Sunday, July 26, 2009, with a memorial service following at 1:00PM.
