Name: Joyce Bishop Date: December 25th, 1926 - December 5th, 2009 Obituary: ADRIAN – Joyce A. Bishop, age 82, of Adrian, passed away Saturday, December 5, 2009 at Provincial House. Joyce was born Christmas Day 1926, in Adrian, the daughter of William and Lila May (Rineheart) Krouse. She graduated from Adrian High School with the Class of 1944, and then attended Riggs Beauty School. On November 8, 1946, Joyce married Robert Bishop in Adrian. Robert, her devoted husband of over 63 years, survives. Joyce worked for Michigan Mutual Insurance for 26 years, retiring in the early 1980’s. Joyce was the president of Adrian City Fire Belles, a member of the Lady Elks, and also a member of the VFW Auxiliary where she was honored for volunteering. In addition to her husband, Joyce is survived by three brothers: Jack (Vivian) Krouse of Clayton; Robert (Norma) Krouse of Madison Center; and Sam (Pete) Krouse of Holland, MI; a sister Fay (Donald) Reed of Blissfield; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Joyce will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at Wagley Funeral Home with Rev. Christopher Brundage officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
